Cupcakes and cashmere by Emily Schuman – The Daily Quirk

I admit that I have an addiction. Every morning when I wake up to my iPhone ringing… The first thing I do after turning off the alarm is to hit the Cupcakes and Cashmere app and read Emily Schuman’s latest blog entry. I’ve been doing this since I discovered his blog over two years ago. Oddly enough, I don’t even remember who told me about it but I want to thank them because every morning I wake up to an inspiring blog from my favorite blogger.

I actually had the pleasure of meeting Emily in LA when I was there on vacation! We had chatted several times through various networking sites, ie. Twitter and Facebook. I was ecstatic when she agreed to meet me for coffee at her favorite place in LA called The Urthe Cafe. Throughout the hour, we talked about her accomplishments and her work with Coach (of course I have the bag she created) and her upcoming projects. She started telling me about her book! I really wanted to know more and she explained to me that it would be a book divided by the four seasons with the functioning of her blog and her life in it. I was so happy to have met her because she is an inspiration not only to me but to many girls and women around the world!

This summer his book was published. What an achievement! I read it in one sitting. She calls it: “A guide to defining your style, reinventing your space and entertaining with ease”. From telling us how to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookie, how to organize a shelf, and show us a guide to a spellbinding Halloween party – there is something for everyone in this book.

I love the way she divides the book into seasons starting with spring. She says she thinks “spring is the time for new beginnings. Everything is fresh and vibrant…. ”. I agree with her. I want to mention three of my favorite topics from each season that I think are must-read:

1. Messy clothes in the cupboard discovered
2.20 ideas for spending a spring day
3. Spring Cocktail: Mint Julep (I’ve always wanted to know how to make one!)

1. How: manicure
2. Berry pie with the perfect crust
3. Have fun in the summer

Publication date

1. A haunting Halloween
2. Homemade pizza dough
3. How to use: glossy lipstick

1. Buy the perfect gift
2. Winter beauty
3. Crash Course on Cheese

Emily shows readers through her book that entertaining can be a breeze, cooking can be fun, fashion doesn’t always have to be trendy and when you take your time a manicure and hair doesn’t have to be a big deal. problems! I know I struggled with these things before I started reading her blog. I never knew what was on the cutting edge of fashion, I was frustrated with my hair and you might forget to take the time to do a manicure on your own! Now I find pleasure in doing all of these things! Especially the manicure. My nail polish collection has grown a lot thanks to Emily’s blog and book! The great thing about his book is that it takes everything we love about his blog and allows readers to have something they can hold and watch whenever they want.

To tell you the truth, I have already followed her advice in the section of her book she wrote called “Closet Clutter Clothes Uncovered”. She explains that you shouldn’t have items in your closet that you don’t automatically reach at least twice a year. I took this advice and I followed it. I declutter my closet with all these clothes that I never even wear. And yes, there were some things that I was holding onto because I thought… “Hmmmm… maybe I can adjust to it again or I don’t want to throw it away because I had so many great memories. by wearing it ”. All these clothes are in bags waiting to go to Goodwill and I am happy. Decluttering allowed me to have space in my closet that I had been missing for a while, which was good. So, a big thank you to Emily for helping me out on this one!
